Metro 2 is the second oldest Paris Metro Line, with its inaugural run held in December 1900. Situated almost entirely above the former city walls (boulevards extérieurs), it runs in a semi-circle along the north of Paris. Slightly over 2 km (1.2 mi) of this line is built on an elevated viaduct with four aerial stations.
